Chordline
Four strings, four levels. Pluck a string to hear it and see where it takes you.
Level 1 · G string · 4 weeks
First strum
Hold it, tune it, play four chords and one whole song by week four.
The timetable
One string per level, low to high.
Every level is named after the string you will lean on most. Groups of four, one teacher, a room with eight chairs.
- GLevel 1 · 4 weeksMon + Thu, 17:30

- CLevel 2 · 6 weeksTue + Fri, 17:30
Chord shapes
Twelve shapes and clean changes between them, at the speed of a real song.
- ELevel 3 · 8 weeksWed, 18:00
Fingerpicking
Thumb and three fingers: arpeggios, a melody line and your first instrumental.
- ALevel 4 · 10 weeksSat, 10:00
Small ensemble
Four players, four parts. You learn to listen while you play.
Four chords, most songs
Tap a shape to strum it.
Each diagram is the real fingering on a G C E A ukulele: dots are fingers, rings are open strings. The sound is made live in your browser from those four frets.
How a lesson runs
Fifty minutes, four parts.
Bring nothing but the ukulele. Chordline is a fictional school, so there is no room to visit, but this is how its lessons would run.
Tune
Five minutes with the clip-on tuner, string by string, low G last.
Warm up
The chord changes from last week, slowly, until they ring.
New thing
One new shape or pattern. Never two.
Play together
The group plays a full song, and someone else takes the melody.
Enrol
Book a first lesson, any level.
Pick the string you think you are on. You can move up or down after the first lesson. This is a concept form: it checks what you type, but nothing is sent anywhere.
